Ascend NTNU: Aerial Robotics

Ascend NTNU develops autonomous drones and competes in the Alpha Pilot Challenge & International Aerial Robotics Competition every year, the world’s largest and oldest engineering competition for autonomous aerial robotics.

Orbit NTNU: Satellites

Orbit NTNU is a non-profit student organization, aiming to design and build Norway’s first operational student satellite. Once the first operational satellite is launched, they will start designing new and more complex satellites.

Propulse NTNU is a student organization with the primary task of designing, developing and building a rocket to participate in the Spaceport America Cup, the world's largest student rocket competition, held each summer at Spaceport America in New Mexico, USA.

Orbital Machines aim to be the first and leading supplier of large electric turbopumps for the fast growing small satellite launch sector. It will be the most powerful of its kind launched into space, commercially available.

Vake apply intelligence to satellite images to gain deeper insight into vessels at sea. By analysing terrabytes of data every day they help fight global threats like illegal fishery, smuggling, piracy and spoofing attacks.

NTNU Smallsat Lab

NTNU Smallsat Lab includes projects supported by internal NTNU-funding, AMOS, Norwegian Research Council, Norwegian Space Centre and others. These includ a small satellite mission with hyper spectral imager to support oceanographic applications, and a small satellite mission with software defined radio to provide better communication systems in the Arctic.

Tumors In Space

Tumors in Space is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Tricia L. Larose at NTNU, the International Space University in France and organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium. TIS will study early mutational events due to cosmic radiation and microgravity using healthy and cancer human organoids that are 3D in nature.

CIRiS

CIRiS - Center for interdisciplinary research in space, works with research and development related to manned spaceflight and plantlife in closed growth systems. The main activities are related to research activities aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and the cultivation of food plants in a regulated environment both in space and on earth.
